Strengthening Child Care Super for the future 

We're making some important changes to help strengthen Child Care Super for the future. We've sent you a Significant Event Notice that explains the changes in detail.

You'll continue to be a Child Care Super member while benefiting from lower overall fees for most members, a refreshed range of investment options and the strength of a larger super fund.

For most members, there's nothing you need to do, unless you need to provide your employer with our new details.

We're here to guide you through the changes and make the transition as smooth as possible.

What's staying the same

The things you value aren't changing

While some things are changing behind the scenes, many of the things you value about Child Care Super will stay the same. You'll continue to have:

  • Your Child Care Super membership

  • Your member and account numbers

  • Member Online and the Child Care Super app (including your login details)

  • Your insurance cover and policy terms (if you have insurance)

  • Access to our Member Services team and advice from our Coach team

  • Access to the 360Health wellbeing program

What's changing?

These changes are designed to strengthen Child Care Super for the future while continuing to support members throughout their retirement journey.

Lower overall fees for most members

Most members are expected to pay lower overall fees after the changes are complete.

You'll continue to receive the same trusted support while keeping more of your money invested for your future.

Refreshed investment options

We've updated our investment menu to provide more choice and to better support members at different stages of life.

Your account will automatically move to the most appropriate comparable investment option, so you do not need to make a new choice. Learn more about the new options

Insurance

Your insurance cover and policy terms aren't changing.

If you have insurance through Child Care Super, your cover will stay the same. The insurance administration fee will increase, which means the overall cost of your insurance will be slightly higher.

SuperSuper

SuperSuper will no longer be available to members who have not activated the service on or before 10 September 2026.

If you've already activated SuperSuper, you can continue using the program to grow your super in accordance with its terms and conditions.

New details for your employer

Behind the scenes, your Child Care Super account will become part of the Smart Future Trust. This means Child Care Super will have a new ABN and USI for contributions made from 5 September 2026.

If your employer uses Child Care Super as their default super fund, we will contact them directly where possible.

If you’re not sure, or your employer asks for the new details, you can copy them from below or send a pre-filled email to your employer.

Do I need to do anything?

We'll take care of moving your account and investments. You may need to provide your employer with our new details if we’ve not been able to contact them or if they ask you for them.

If there's anything else we need you to do, we'll contact you directly.

Members planning certain transactions during the transfer period should also ensure these are completed before 4 September when some transactions become temporarily unavailable.

Pension members

Your pension payments around the transfer

If you receive pension payments from Child Care Super, you don’t need to do anything. We’ll manage any payment changes automatically. Here’s what to expect:

  • If you’re paid twice monthly, your payment scheduled for 10 September 2026 will be paid earlier, on Monday 7 September 2026. Your regular payment schedule will resume on 24 September 2026.

  • If an additional pension payment is needed to meet your minimum pension payment requirement for 2026–27, it will be paid on Monday 7 September 2026.

  • From 4–14 September, some member-initiated transactions, including withdrawals and investment switches, will be temporarily unavailable while we complete the transfer.  

  • You can still log in to your online account and the app to view your account.

Child Care Super becomes part of Smart Future Trust. We will take care of moving your account and investments as part of the transfer.
14 Sept
The transfer is complete and all services have resumed.
24 Sept
Pension members only: If you receive pension payments twice monthly your regular pension payment schedule resumes.
Late Sept
We will send you an exit statement and welcome letter. These are required by law. There is nothing you need to do. They are for your records and confirm that your account has been transferred successfully.

Frequently asked questions

Why are these changes happening?

Behind the scenes, Child Care Super is becoming part of Smart Future Trust (a larger investment structure). This change is being made, to strengthen Child Care Super for the future by supporting lower overall fees for most members, providing a refreshed range of investment options and giving members the benefits of increased scale. The Child Care Super brand is not going anywhere.

Am I still a Child Care Super member?

Yes. You will continue to be a Child Care Super member after the transfer.

Do I need to do anything?

We’ll take care of moving your account and investments.

You may need to provide your employer with our new details if we’ve not been able to contact them or if they ask you for them.

If there is anything you need to do, we will contact you directly.

Can I still access my account during the transfer?

Yes. You will continue to be able to log in to Member Online and the Child Care Super app throughout the transfer period to view your account.

From 4-14 September, some member-initiated transactions, such as investment switches and withdrawals, will be temporarily unavailable while we complete the transfer.

Will my fees change?

Yes. Most members are expected to pay lower overall fees following the transfer. Some individual fee components will change, but for most members the overall cost of their account will reduce.

Will my investment option change?

Investment options are being refreshed. We will automatically move your account to the investment option that is the most comparable to the one you are already invested in.

Will my insurance cover change?

No. Your insurance cover and policy terms remain the same.

The insurance administration fee will however increase, which means the overall cost of your insurance will be slightly higher.

Will my pension payments continue during the transfer?

Yes. If you receive pension payments from Child Care Super, we’ll manage payment timing around the transfer. Some payments may be made earlier than usual. More details are available here.
