8 August 2025
It’s been another good financial year for Child Care Super, delivering double digit returns for members across multiple options, despite a turbulent year in global financial markets. Our MySuper portfolios achieved strong results with invested members achieving between 12.6% - 9.6%. Our MySuper Growing Lifestage option returned 11.8% which is inline with performance of the top 10 MySuper Lifecycle products of FY25.*
The big picture
From April to June 2025, investment markets delivered solid gains – likely helping your super finish the financial year on a high. Few could have predicted the market’s recovery after the volatility that stirred things up as recently as April. Despite lots happening around the world, markets held their ground – and in many cases, surged ahead.
In simple terms, big companies around the world performed well. Technology stocks – like those involved in AI and infrastructure – continued to grow, slowly. These are companies that are shaping the future, and they’ve generally been doing very well for some time now. That’s helped them to boost share markets overall.
Fixed-interest investments (like bonds), which are the steadier, more stable part of most super portfolios, also performed positively. As inflation cooled, bond prices rose – a good result for diversified super options.
The Australian story
Here in Australia, the big banks (led by Commonwealth) posted strong results, thanks to solid earnings and rising dividends – meaning they pay more money back to shareholders. That helped the Aussie share market to rise nearly 14% over the financial year, completing a triple whammy of good news for your super.
Looking forward
It looks like AI and digital industries are likely to dominate share market returns for a while. The world’s largest companies in these themes – like Microsoft, Nvidia and Google – are the key players in global equity returns.
Of course, no one can predict exactly what markets will do next. But we do know this: by staying invested and taking a long-term view, your super has the potential to grow steadily – even when the headlines are full of surprises.
Child Care Super is focused on growing your future wealth and supporting a world worth retiring into – with purpose and care.
