The Child Care Super is pleased to offer employers access to MercerSpectrum. MercerSpectrum acts as a clearing house and could see the hours spent managing your payroll decreased markedly.

Working as a clearing house, MercerSpectrum will make one deduction from your nominated bank account and then electronically transfer all the payments to any other funds the way you've specified. This means you can reduce the processing of all your contributions down to one batch, no matter how many super funds your employees choose. 

What are the benefits of MercerSpectrum?

Benefits of MercerSpectrum:

  • User friendly. Offers the ease of a single log on through the internet.
  • No more data entry. Accepts payroll uploads and other electronic file types that list your contribution payment data.
  • Automatic payment. You control when and how much is deducted from your chosen account by a direct debit that you initiate each time.
  • Electronic updating of employee data. Lets you update your employees’ details, add new ones and remove leaving employees, manually or by uploading a file.
  • Excellent record keeping. Keeps track of all contributions paid.
  • Free of charge clearing house to eligible employers. This service is provided free of charge to Child Care Super employers so long as the Child Care Super is your default fund. If you don’t meet this condition but would still like to use MercerSpectrum you may be able to do so. Please contact us for more information.

How it works

A MercerSpectrum expert will work with your payroll staff to produce a data file from your payroll system that contains all the necessary information including the fund the contribution is being paid to, the employee's member number, name, date of birth, tax file number and contribution type and amount.

After the initial set up, you’ll be able to run the report from your payroll system whenever you wish to make your contribution payments and upload it directly to MercerSpectrum.

If required, as an added security measure you can introduce a second level of internal athorisation before submitting the file. Submitting the file will automatically trigger a Direct Debit request from your bank account.
